I’m Kerrin McMurdie, founder of Sprout and Goose Travel.

The names “Sprout” and “Goose” are my children’s nicknames, courtesy of my husband, and the inspiration behind the name of the company. Travel has been a constant in my life. It has shaped who I am, nourishing my curiosity and expanding how I see the world. I believe deeply in travel’s ability to restore us from the demands of daily life while also broadening our perspective and understanding.

My children have been traveling since infancy, and travel has played a meaningful role in how they have grown, fostering curiosity about the world around them. Some of my favorite travel moments are with them, seeing the world through their eyes and watching how these experiences shape who they are becoming. That belief, that travel helps us grow through curiosity, connection, and shared experience, is why I named my company Sprout and Goose Travel.
My Story
My travel career and passion began after college while working as a consultant in IT education, a role that required frequent travel both within the United States and internationally. While I enjoyed the work itself, it was the opportunity to travel extensively that shaped my professional path. Over the years, I lived and worked across the United States, Europe, and Asia, building firsthand experience in a wide range of destinations and travel environments.

Alongside my professional travel, I researched destinations, accommodations, and experiences in depth, both for my own travel and for friends and family who relied on my planning. I have designed and coordinated travel across Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and North America, including multi country itineraries, remote destinations, and trips that require careful logistics and thoughtful pacing.

Now, more than 25 years later, travel remains central to my life and work. My experience spans solo travel, travel as a couple, travel with friends, and travel with family, including traveling with children from infancy onward.

My work is grounded in broad global travel experience, careful listening, and the ability to ask the right questions early, matching people to places and experiences that reflect who they are and how they want to experience the world.
